    Symptoms

Peritonitis is a very painful condition accompanied by vomiting and a racing pulse rate. The abdomen becomes swollen and tight like a board. The patient's life is in danger at this point and must be hospitalized immediately. Provided the patient is in good health otherwise, a skillful surgeon will have a good chance to pull the patient through.
