The Medicinal Herb Info site was created to help educate visitors about the often forgotten wisdom of the old ways of treating illnesses. Many of today's drugs and medicines were originally derived from natural ingredients, combinations of plants and other items found in nature.

We are not suggesting that you ignore the help of trained medical professionals, simply that you have additional options available for treating illnesses. Often the most effective treatment involves a responsible blend of both modern and traditional treatments.

We wish you peace and health!

Symptoms

No symptoms are found in 10% of men and 70% of women. When symptoms do occur, they include genital inflammation, vaginal and/or urethral discharge, difficulty urinating, painful intercourse, and itching around the inflamed area. If untreated, inflammatory disease and irreparable damage to reproductive system can occur, resulting in infertility. Hysterectomy may be required, complications grow as time passes, so treatment by a doctor should not be delayed.

In males, prostatitis and inflammation of the seminal vesicles may be caused by Chlamydia; symptoms include pain on urination and/or watery mucous urethral discharge. Chronic prostatitis and infertility may result without treatment. Both sexes have similar discharges, and it is this discharge that sexually transmits the disease. Both partners should be treated so that the disease is not passed back and forth.

Treatment

See a doctor. He or she will diagnose and most likely prescribe an antibiotic. Persons under 35 who have more than one sexual partner should be tested every year.
